The thoughts about ourselves which run through our mind start to become our life’s intentions.  Without judgement, become the observer of your thoughts and begin to look for repetitive patterns.  The thoughts will soon start to lose their power if you don’t give them energy.  A good way to practice is to be “fully there” the next time you’re performing a mundane task such as cleaning or shopping.  This is usually when the mind will start to wander but allow it to stay still.  Focus on your body, your sensations, your energy within.  Our minds keep us trapped in the past or worried about the future.  It doesn’t make sense to focus on these since the past is already gone and we don’t know what the future holds.  Allow yourself to truly enjoy the present.  It rarely happens but is a very special moment when we live with awareness and presence.
