It seems like everyone is coming down with something these days.  There is a bug going around which apparently debilitates victims for about 4 to 6 days.  Changes of seasons often bring flus, viruses and colds.  I believe that we don’t necessarily need a flu shot in order to protect ourselves from what’s to come each year.  I think it is up to us to feed our body with fuel that will protect it throughout the year.

When we become sick, this is often a sign that our immune system wasn’t as strong as it could have been.  Of course, there are times that we’ll get it no matter what, but a strong immune system will definitely help to avoid it.  Quite often when we experience low energy, this is a sign that our immune system is impaired.  By understanding the causes of an impaired immune system, this can help to improve our lymphatic system and boost our energy.

Stress, inefficient absorption levels, improper liver functioning, medications and toxins are all factors that contribute to a low immune system.  While all of these negatively affect our body, improper nutrition is usually the worst way to increase our susceptibility to illnesses.

How do you improve this?  Start incorporating more fresh fruits and vegetables into your daily routine.  Citrus fruits, in particular, are excellent in giving the body that extra boost it needs.  Make sure your diet is a colourful one.  Red, orange and yellow fruits and vegetables are high in antioxidants that combat illnesses.
