I’ve been eating fruit and yogurt bowls all the time lately.  Today I enjoyed one as a snack halfway through the day.  They are not only delicious but nutrient packed as well.  There is a high amount of fibre in this meal so it will keep you feeling full longer than most snacks.  These foods take longer to digest in the body so they won’t spike your blood sugar levels.

In order to get your daily dose of healthy fats, a good idea is to sprinkle flax seeds over your breakfast bowl.  It’s best to grind them in a coffee grinder or buy them ground already.  They have a protective coating and your body won’t be able to access the nutrients if they aren’t ground.

I also added hemp seeds to this dish.  They are high in healthy fats and proteins as well.  I drizzled raw honey and coconut oil on top for a sweet touch.  The coconut oil is a thermogenic food which means that it speeds up your metabolism and results in fat burning.  The strawberries, blueberries and gogi berries are all high in antioxidants.  Have a snack like this today instead of your usual one!  It will give you more energy and a high amount of vitamins and minerals.
